The Law of God of the Bible is the Law of the Universe by which all the living creatures of the Universe learns to love one another. The whole law of God is summed up in two great commandments
Matthew 22: “37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 40 On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.”
First and Great Commandment comprises of the First Four Commandments of the Ten Commandments Law.
Exodus 20:
“3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: 5 thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; 6 and shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
7 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
8 Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. 9 Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: 10 but the seventh day is the sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: 11 for in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.”
And the second commandment comprises of the remaining six commandments of the Ten Commandments Law of God.
Exodus 20:
“12 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
13 Thou shalt not kill.
14 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
15 Thou shalt not steal.
16 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
17 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour’s.”
Every commandment of God has much more in-depth meaning in their explanations. For example, let us look the 7th commandment which says Thou shalt not commit adultery. The Bible clearly explains that there should not be any extra marital affair either before marriage or after marriage and it commands the marriage is between one man and one woman and only this is sanctified. And all others like Polygamy, Homosexual, Fornication and Transgender are sins and perverted.
And also to have a secured and independent life, all the above 10 commandments should be completely enforced which otherwise is dangerous for human existence. For example, if we look at the 6th commandment which commands Thou Shalt not kill or in other words murder. This commandment goes deeper that hating your brother without any proper cause is itself a transgression of this commandment. If everyone kill each other, who will live in this world? So in order to have a happy and secured life without any danger, this commandment is very important.
And apart from the above breaking of the commandment “Thou shalt not steal” anyone and other commandments will lead to the unruly world and a world with full of chaos.
And that is why Creator God gave this Ten Commandment Law.
But why did He command that there should be no other gods to you?
The reason is very simple. If you think there is another god exists other than the one and only one Creator, then there is danger of losing your liberty, peace and security.
If there is another god that comes and tells that it is okay to kill, steal, or commit adultery and so on, it will create chaos to the world. That is why we see so many traditions and cultures in this world, which is full of confusion. These demi gods had no power whatsoever to change or break the Law of God.
And the existence of God itself is a Law and this Law is contained within God. And so every individual is brought before God and they are judged based on the observance of the Law of God.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 “13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.”
Ecclesiastes 12:1 “Remember now thy Creator in the days of thy youth, while the evil days come not, nor the years draw nigh, when thou shalt say, I have no pleasure in them;”
God loves you individually. Salvation of God is given based on every individual’s decision. You are responsible for your own decision. If you trust in God with all of your heart to be saved, you will not even think to make excuses irrespective of who you are in this world. We pray for you as an individual with heart full of love that God Bless you with the wisdom, knowledge, understanding, peace and harmony and bless your eyes to see, bless your ears to hear and bless your heart to understand the great love of God which was manifested in sacrifice of His Son Lord Jesus Christ FOR YOU!
